Many of the families of Mountain Community came together, working hard to complete the Mountain Volunteer Fire Department. A building , fire truck and equipment were need in order to have a fire department. Member had singings, fish fries and turkey shoots to raise the money which they would need. The Fire house also serves as a shelter for the community in bad weather.
Today many of the member that helped start the Mountain Volunteer Fire Department have passed away, but contributions they make will never be forgotten.
